Booked the Ryanair flight to Rome (details on the website by the time
you get this) and the boat to Tassie.
Went back to the Railway Museum, because we hadn't quite finished the
other day. We caught a ride on a miniture train, I showed Kate the Royal
Train section, and we checked out the model train display. Tony called
and said he'd be near the Minster soon with Kate's bag (we had managed
to miss each previous attempt to transfer the bag!), so we caught a
road-train across - there's one that runs between the Minster and the
Railway Museum.
Another call from Catherine Delaney - saying that either Tracy or Tricia
would call either later that day or on Friday. It won't surprise you by
now to learn that we didn't get that call.
Looked through the crypt of the Minster while we were there. It had a
very interesting history, with archelogical finds again (can't dig
without finding something ancient here in York!). It had the old Roman
building, then the early Norman church and finally the current medieval
Minster - with a map superimposing the size and shape of each. There's
even an old Roman culvert still draining away into the River Ouse. While
we were down there, the choral evensong started - so we listened to that
for a bit.
Watched 'From Dusk till Dawn' - it's rather scary, and definitely
B-grade. Sort of like Buffy on really bad drugs.
