Went to the library first thing to return our books and cards (and get
our deposits back), then walked over to Marks and Spencer's to catch the
bus out to Grimston Bar to go to the maize maze.

In the middle of a field next to a huge car park (for the park and ride
into town) is a maze of, yes, maize. It's grown to feed this farm's
cattle for the next year. There were only 5 cows in the pen - we
wondered if that was it to the herd! The theme of the maze is Vikings,
so it was in the shape of a viking ship with flag, etc. We had to get to
the flag in the centre, then to the longboat at the edge. The maize is
harvested at the end of September, so the plants were very tall, but the
paths were well trodden - some of the paths were pretty obviously not
the right way! Also quite evident were the places were people had broken
through the maize to get from one path to another, the cheats! We
refused to take any of these (some well trodden) paths.

Back at the hostel we lazed around reading our books and finally wrote
all these diary entries!
