It's a large island (though not quite as big as Sicilly) to the west of
the Italian mainland, and just south of Corsica (France). It has a very
relaxed pace of life, and considers itself different from the rest of
Italy (the mainland as they call it). Great for relaxing, but don't
expect to get anywhere in a hurry.
Public transport isn't fantastic, they expect you to drive. With a car,
everything is very reachable.
