Went to the library and signed up - free internet, but the screen is
small and the system is so locked down that you can't even have multiple
windows open. Borrowed lots of books.
Kate's call to Australia had results - she was called back by the
manager of the Sydney office, who was very helpful and had been in
contact with the office over here and it would all be sorted out -
Michelle would call on Wednesday morning.
Got a form from "Beaver Employment" - so that if Select fell through
Kate could find other work.
Went to Tourist Info, Uni Housing and various estate agents to find out
about housing. The only thing we could find that looked good cost 150
pounds/week, but we could live with that if we had work - it was a
holiday apartment not too far outside town (bus journey to the train
station wasn't too bad).
Found Sainsburys and bought food. We're glad we have a good knife with
us, because the only sharp knife at the hostel is a bread knife. All the
other ones have been stolen.
Overall quite a busy day.
I asked to move to the bottom bunk, where the ends are still raised, but
the sides aren't. The allows me to stick my feet out and sleep a bit
more comfortably.
