Kate spent an hour on the phone to her mother! Yikes. Anyway, we finally
managed to get out and wander around town. Saw the monument to Lord
Brunswick - very fancy. He'd left the town a whole heap of money to give
him a good monument, so they did. Nice gardens as well.
Saw the biggest water-thing we're likely to see. It used to be a safety
valve for the industrial area around the lake, but now runs all the time
in summer. It has 7 tonnes of water in the air at any instant!
Walked along the river and just looked at buildings.
We watched Minority Report (subtitled in German and French) in a cinema
that had plenty of leg room, though the break for smokers in the middle
still happened.
I was feeling a bit sick afterwards, so we walked straight back
(stopping briefly to see a giant floral clock).
