The hostel was planning to paint and fumigate on level 1, so we were
moved again - up to 'Minster' on level 2.
Went to the real Minster, after pizza for lunch. Looked around inside -
just ground floor. There's lots to see! Checked out some shops in the
area, and did more shopping. Sainsburys is right across town, so
shopping actually takes up a lot of time. We walked back through 'The
Shambles' (a narrow street of shops which lean over and almost meet at
the top, originally butchers).
We've been cooking meals just about every night here, and eating in the
TV room (it's the non-smoking area for eating - the dining room always
smells horrible. They aren't allowed to open the windows more than a
couple of inches for safety reasons - people might jump out or
something, and they can't put bars over the windows because it's a
listed building, and that would be a modification).
I went for a walk around the walls of York (took exactly one hour!)
while Kate watched movies.
